Build-a-Room

Build a room for 11 friends. Use any materials that you have at your house. For example: cardboard, wood, sticks, construction paper, craft sticks, pipe cleaners, anything that you can think of.

Make 11 friends to place in the room. You now have a model of the room Jesus’ disciples hid in after Jesus died and where Jesus revealed himself to them.

  1. Cut out a large heart.

  2. Find big craft eyes to glue onto the heart. If you don’t have eyes you can draw them with markers or crayons.

  3. Add yarn for hair and cut out a mouth to glue to the heart and anything else you might want to add.

  4. Write “EYE BELIEVE” on the heart.

  5. Place and glue a strip of card stock paper to the back to make a “stand,” so the heart can stand up on its own. (The strip of card stock will just be folded, and one end glued to the bottom of the heart, and the other section will be on the table and hold the heart up.)

“B-E-L-I-E-V-E” Acrostic

On a poster board or piece of paper, write B-E-L-I-E-V-E down the left side of the board. Think of words for each of the letters that would help them BELIEVE, or ideas of what JESUS has done to help us BELIEVE, etc.

  1. Draw very large eyes on a piece of construction paper.

  2. Glue the eyes that you made, lashes (cut from another color of paper and cut to look like lashes), eyebrows, etc. on another piece of construction paper.

  3. Write words that help you to SEE and BELIEVE in JESUS even though we can’t SEE Jesus!
